About

Jennifer Harmon is a poet who was born and raised in New Mexico, currently residing in Astoria, Queens. Inspired by her late mother, Patty, also a writer, Jennifer's goal is to share their story with the world. Her work is heavily influenced by personal relationships with family and friends as well as the atmosphere of the Southwest desert and the East Coast. Although she misses the hot enchiladas and the enchanting pastel pink and orange sunsets of The Land of Enchantment, she has formed a rich and rewarding life in New York City. Intertwining her mother's writings with her own, Jennifer's poetry readings provide a unique and very moving experience for her audience.

Jennifer has performed as a featured poet for Inspired Word NYC, Rimes of the Ancient Mariner, Brownstone Poets, Risk of Discovery, Nomadic Press, Brooklyn Workshop Gallery, and No Name Showcase, among others. She recently traveled to Phoenix, AZ, where she read from her book and answered questions at Changing Hands Bookstore. She has been a featured storyteller at Friday Night Stories, My First Time, So What Happened Was, and In A Nutshell.

She loves going on adventures with her husband Chris, snuggling and playing with their three cats, Zach, Jupiter, and Yoda, and changing her hair color and hairstyle on a regular basis

For over year, Jennifer and her dear friend, poetess Drew Eliza have hosted a monthly show, Sugar & Spice Erotica Nite Open Mic at QED in Astoria, Queens.
